Khamis returns to the club this season after a recent stint at Canberra United which saw her feature in 12 matches and score two goals.
For the striker, returning to the Wanderers this season means representing her hometown club once more, an opportunity she’s very excited for this season.
“I caught up with Dean (Heffernan) and had a good chat with him about the team and their goals for the upcoming season and it went from there,” said Khamis.
“I’m really excited to be part of it and look forward to the upcoming season… Western Sydney is home.”
Playing at opposition club Canberra last season, Khamis saw first-hand the Wanderers revolution and is looking forward to getting to work with Heffernan and the coaching staff.
“The Wanderers created history last year! It was awesome to see the work that Dean and the coaching staff did, it really paid off and you saw that with the style of football they played and with all their results,” said Khamis.
“A credit to everyone at the club that was involved in achieving those results. It was a new Western Sydney Wanderers team.”
With the Red & Black set to kick-off their pre-season preparations this month, Khamis is already aiming to go one better with the club this season.
“Every year that I play, I want to win,” said Khamis.
“It’s every players dream of making finals and winning the league. So I hope this season we go one better than last season and make it to the Grand Final.”
