A Wollongong local, Lachlan started his junior football with Balgownie Rangers, playing for the south coast side until U11s when he then joined Illawarra.

After selection in Football NSW’s Project 22 squad for elite young players, Lachlan moved to Wollongong Wolves before moving to APIA Leichhardt as a 15-year-old. Lachlan played his club football for APIA in the NSW NPL and also spent time in the Sydney FC NYL squad in 2014/15.

The forward has represented Australian U20s and joined the Western Sydney Wanderers for the Foxtel NYL 2015/16 season.

Lachlan made a successful National Youth League debut against Newcastle Jets in Round 1 of the 2015/16 season where he scored twice, finishing the season as the Red & Black’s equal top goal scorer. He continued that form in the PS4 NPL2 competition as he hit 15 goals in 13 matches – including five goals off the bench in a Round 1 win over the defender premiers, Spirit FC.

With so many goals to his name, it was no surprise when Scott was named the Wanderers’ Youth Player of the Year and was rewarded with a Hyundai A-League contract for the 2016/17 season.

It didn’t take the centre forward long to get off the mark for the first team as Scott made his first-team debut in the Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 against Wellington Phoenix where he scored two goals to help secure an incredible come-from-behind win. Scott was rewarded with a two year contract extension in November 2016.

Scott went on to score his first Hyundai A-League goal in the Club’s Community Round match against Newcastle Jets and scored two goals in the AFC Champions League, capping off a great season for the youngster.
