Liberty A-League MRP Outcomes and other suspensions

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) confirms that, over the course of the Isuzu UTE A-League Men and Liberty A-League Women matches played between Friday, 1 March 2024 and Sunday, 3 March 2024, it considered one incident in relation to Victoria Bruce of Western Sydney Wanderers FC.

Victoria Bruce (Western Sydney Wanderers FC)

The independent MRP considered an Obvious Error application made by Victoria Bruce (Bruce) of Western Sydney Wanderers FC (Wanderers) in relation to an incident in or around the 72nd minute of the Wanderers’ Liberty A-League Women match against Sydney FC on Saturday, 2 March 2024, in which Bruce received a direct Red Card for denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

In accordance with the A-Leagues Disciplinary Regulations (the Regulations), the MRP has the authority to consider an Obvious Error application submitted by Bruce on the basis that there was no obvious goal scoring opportunity.

The MRP unanimously allowed the application. As such, the Red Card has been expunged from Bruce’s record, and she will not be required to serve the Mandatory Match Suspension of one (l) match. Bruce will be available for selection for the Wanderers’ next Liberty A-League Women match against Canberra United FC on Saturday, 9 March 2024.
