Liberty A-League Preview: Sydney Derby

The Wanderers will be hoping to change their fortunes against their cross-town rivals on Monday night.

Sydney FC are on top of the table with three wins from three, eight goals for, one against and two clean sheets.

The Wanderers, meanwhile, are seventh with a Round 2 loss to Sydney FC sandwiched by two draws against Wellington and the Jets in Rounds 1 and 3 respectively.

The Red & Black most recent match against the Jets saw them fight back to level late in the game.

The late equaliser by Wanderer Ashlie Crofts left the Jets rueing a host of missed opportunities in the latter stages.

In the Wanderers last meeting against Sydney FC, the Red & Black were defeated 2-0 thanks to a double from Remy Siemsen.

The forward grabbed a goal either side of the break at Parramatta’s Commbank Stadium to ensure the Sky Blues’ winning start to the campaign remains intact.

Key stat: Sydney FC have won 16 of their 19 Liberty A-League games against Western Sydney Wanderers (D1, L2), including their last four on the bounce across which they have kept four clean sheets.
