The Wanderers Foundation’s 2022 Christmas Appeal has reached its first milestone with over $16,000 donated to promoting and advocating for All Abilities Football in the Western Sydney region.
Over the last two years, the Wanderers Foundation has had an impact on over 10,000 individuals in the Western Sydney community through running programs focusing on female football, multicultural engagement, the indigenous community, disadvantaged youth and All Abilities Football.
This Christmas, the Foundation launched its very first Appeal with all donations going directly to All Abilities Football programs.
Patrick Tuttle from Inagh Foundation, who donated $10,000 to the Appeal, said it was an inspiring cause that will have a positive impact on the Western Sydney community.
“The Inagh Foundation is proud to support the Wanderers Foundations Christmas Appeal, particularly its core focus on All Abilities initiatives,” said Tuttle.
“Supporting people with an intellectual or physical disability, through the great sport of football, is an inspiring cause for the whole Western Sydney community.”
Kingsgrove Sports Centre who donated $5,000 said it was important to give confidence back to these communities.
“It’s an outstanding concept. They are focusing on giving those with disabilities the support and confidence to participate in sport with their peers.”
The City of Parramatta also recently donated $1,000 to the Christmas Appeal.
“The City of Parramatta is proud to support the Wanderers Foundation’s Christmas Appeal,” said City of Parramatta.
“The Wanderers All Abilities football initiatives encourage participation and inclusion in football for people with physical or intellectual disability, making a real difference for communities across Western Sydney.”
All donations to the Wanderers Foundation Christmas Appeal go towards:
- People with an intellectual disability or autism, as well as people with a physical disability to help them increase their confidence, mobility and social connections
- The Wanderers Powerchair Team
- The Wanderers Inclusive Football Program, which the Foundation currently runs in schools and is in the process of expanding across the Western Sydney region
