The man who sits with 63 mates at every Wanderers match

Meet Andy Kensett, a Member of the Western Sydney Wanderers who quite literally sits with 63 of his mates at each home game.

Since the day he moved to Australia from England, Andy was desperate to find a sense of belonging and community but it wasn’t until the formation of the Red & Black that he had a club to call his own.

“I joined up on day one,” said Andy proudly.

“I was one of the first people waiting online for Memberships to be released and we signed up the family as soon as they went online.”

Once the season began and Andy was able to experience the atmosphere and community ethos of Wanderland, he started bring a few friends to each match.

By season’s end, Andy was one of a group of 20 Members that sat together in the general admission section: all of them coming from Parklea Soccer Football Club.

“The next season we decided we would start a little group and get our own seats away from the sun and, with that decision, our group became official.”

Andy’s pack of mates has now tripled with his group totalling an incredible 64! And how did this happen? Andy puts it down to him inviting anyone who will listen.

“At any opportunity we get we try to grow the group. It’s just by word of mouth by the people at Parklea Soccer Club and at the end of every season we get people asking if they can join our group of Members at the game.”

In seeking a club with a true sense of community, Andy found everything he needed as a Wanderers Member and has gone full circle, creating his own miniature community in the stands.
