Match Preview: Perth Glory v Wanderers

Perth Glory are desperate to halt a run of three straight winless A-League Men matches as they host Western Sydney Wanderers at Macedonia Park on Friday.

Western Sydney Wanderers’ last A-League Men match saw them triumph 4-0 over Macarthur at home to end a three-match winless streak, leaving them in second place on 18 points through 10 matches. They are four points behind table-topping Melbourne City.

Perth Glory sit in 12th place with seven points through nine matches. Perth were defeated 2-0 in their last A-League Men match at Coopers Stadium against Adelaide United, extending their winless streak to three (W0 D1 L2).

Wanderers won the last A-League Men meeting between the teams, triumphing 1-0 at CommBank Stadium in October. Sulejman Krpic scored for the Wanderers in the 78th minute.

Wanderers have got the better of Perth of late, unbeaten in their last three A-League Men matches (W2 D1 L0). Perth are looking for their first league win in fixtures between the two clubs since May 2021. The wanderers have outscored the Glory 3-1 during their unbeaten streak.

Brandon Borrello, Oliver Bozanic, and Yeni N’Gbakoto have been Western Sydney Wanderers’ main attacking threats this campaign, each finding the target twice.

Perth have been led by Giordano Colli and Aaron McEneff. The duo are the team’s joint top scorers with two goals.

In their last six league matches, Perth have won one, drawn one and lost four. Wanderers, meanwhile, have won two, drawn two and lost two in their last six.
