Growing up on the North Shore, Mathieu played his first football for West Pymble before moving to Hornsby’s Northern Tigers.
As a 12-year-old, he was a part of Football NSW’s Project 22 squad for elite young players until he moved to Blacktown City and representing NSW in the FFA National Championships in 2013.
After a stint with FNSW in the NSW NPL, Mathieu played his most recent club football for Manly United before joining the Wanderers for the Foxtel NYL 2015/16 season.
Mathieu made his debut against Newcastle Jets in Round 1.
