Western Sydney Wanderers FC have parted ways with captain Dylan McGowan by mutual consent with the termination of the player’s contract effective immediately.
The defender returned to the A-League in June 2019 with the Wanderers after stints overseas with Paços de Ferreira, Gangwon, and Vendsyssel FF.
McGowan was named the club’s captain for the 2020/21 season and made over 40 appearances for the club including playing in the Red & Black’s historic match against Leeds United.
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas wished McGowan all the best for the future.
“We thank Dylan for his contribution to the club over the last two seasons,” said Tsatsimas.
“We wish him and his family all the best in their next adventure.”
Wanderers captain Dylan McGowan thanked the club for the last two seasons.
“It’s been an honour to be part of the Western Sydney Wanderers for the last two seasons as well as being named the captain of the club last season,” said McGowan.
“Despite not getting the results we were hoping for, it has been a very memorable part of my career and I wish the club all the best in the future.”
