Najjarine re-signs for two seasons

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have tonight confirmed the re-signing of forward Ramy Najjarine for the next two Isuzu UTE A-League seasons.

Najjarine returned to his hometown club last season after stints at Melbourne City and Newcastle Jets.

A Fairfield local, Najjarine was an inaugural member of the Wanderers Academy having originally joined the club back in 2015.

Najjarine featured in 22 matches and scored two goals for Western Sydney in the A-Leagues last season.

More recently, the forward was part of Australia’s U23 Asian Cup squad that qualified for the Semi Final.

Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Mark Rudan praised the re-signing.

“We are delighted to have Ramy back at the club to continue his growth and development over the next two seasons,” said Rudan.

“A local boy, Ramy understands the importance of representing his hometown club and is passionate about becoming a fantastic ambassador for not only region, but the next generation.”

Najjarine said he was excited to be continuing his journey at the club.

“(Last season) was a bit of a crazy season. We didn’t expect to finish the way that we did, but there were plenty of positives to take out of it,” said Najjarine.

“I’m excited and grateful to re-sign here. I know what it means to play for this club, so I’m just excited to be here and I can’t wait for the season to start.

“There’s plenty of fresh faces and good personalities at the club, and I think you will see a big change and step in the right direction.

“I’m excited to play in front of the members and fans again, and hopefully we should have an enjoyable season.”
