Assistant coach during the 2013/2014 season, experienced manager Norm Boardman was appointed head coach for the 2015/15 Westfield W-League season.
Norm’s deep involvement in the game has seen him in coaching education roles for both Football NSW and Football Federation Australia as Technical Director and National Community Coach Education Manager respectively.
The AFC A Licence holder is also head coach of Women’s NPL front-runners Macarthur Rams and is a key figure in the development of junior players and coaches in the Macarthur Football Association.
Norm enjoyed a record-breaking season in his first campaign as head coach of the Westfield W-League side, guiding an extremely youthful squad to the club’s first ever Sydney Derby victory and a shock win over competition heavyweights Brisbane Roar in a result hailed as “one of the greatest upsets in the history of the W-League” by the Daily Telegraph.
So far under Norm Boardman home crowds have increased 66% and player registrations for women in Western Sydney has seen a growth of 40%.
Following his second season in charge, Norm was not retained as Wanderers Head Coach.
