The Western Sydney Wanderers will be looking to end their NPL 2 first grade season on high this Sunday afternoon when they make the short trip to Popondetta Park to face Mt Druitt Town Rangers.
Mt Druitt have proven to be a formidable opponent this year and the Wanderers’ last match against them ended in a 2-0 defeat.
The home side have already sealed the NPL 2 Premiership and are in excellent form, having won seven of their last eight games.
Rangers striker Emmanuel Gonzalez is expected to be the main threat and is the leading goalscorer in the NPL 2 with 25 goals, including a hat-trick in last weekend’s victory over Parramatta FC.
For the Wanderers, Bailey Rule could be one to watch in the future. Rule joined the Academy’s U16 side in 2016 and has steadily moved up through the grades.
Rule scored in last year’s U18 Grand Final victory over Central Coast Mariners and is now a regular part of the U20 side.
The fullback was also recently selected in the U19 Australian Schoolboys squad that will tour the United Kingdom in January.
