This Saturday night, the Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 first grade team will travel to North Turramurra Recreation Area to face Northern Tigers.
The Red & Black have recently been in some great form and have the chance to make it four consecutive wins in the NPL 2.
Northern Tigers currently sit in 5th place, one spot above the Wanderers, and will be looking to make amends after last Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Parramatta FC.
The Northern Suburbs based outfit have proven to be a formidable opponent at this level and have made the NPL 2 finals in three of the last four seasons.
Tigers striker Liam McConaghy will be the main threat on Saturday and has started the season well, with four goals in five games.
For the Wanderers, Tass Mourdoukoutas will be one to watch. The 19-year-old defender joined the Red & Black last year after previously playing for Sydney Olympic.
Mourdoukoutas featured regularly during the 2017/18 Foxtel Y-League season and was part of the Young Socceroos squad that qualified for the 2018 AFC U19 Championship back in November.
Mark Tokich is another Wanderers youngster who has caught the eye.
Tokich won the 2016/17 Foxtel Y-League Player Of The Year award while playing for the FFA Centre of Excellence and scored in the Wanderers Foxtel Y-League Grand Final victory over Melbourne City.
The last time these two sides met in July 2017, the Northern Tigers won 2-1 with Jordan Hall scoring for the Red & Black.
