The Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 team will be looking to consolidate their place in the top six when they travel to Ilinden Sports Centre to face St George FC.
The last time these two sides met was back in March with the Wanderers going down 4-2, despite a double from Kosta Grozos.
Coached by former Socceroo Wally Savor, St George are currently in 3rd place. The Red & Black will have to look out for St George midfielder Hussein Akil, who has scored five goals this season, including a hat-trick in last weekend’s comprehensive 5-0 win over Parramatta FC.
Former Wanderers Academy player Jordan Morfitis is also at St George and has found the back of the net four times this season.
For the Wanderers, Marley Peterson will be one to keep an eye on. Peterson recently joined the Red & Black after starting the season at Manly United.
Able to play as a striker or on either wing, Peterson has made an immediate impact, scoring on his Wanderers debut in last week’s match against North Shore Mariners.
Joshua Gulevski is another Wanderer to watch. After playing for Canberra United during the 2017/18 Foxtel Y-League season, the 19-year-old forward joined the Wanderers Academy this year to play in the U20 side.
Some impressive performances from the youngster led him to be promoted to the NPL 2 first grade squad with his first appearance for the side coming last month against Mt Druitt Town Rangers.
