Player availability issues have meant an undermanned Wanderers side have stumbled in recent weeks, falling to third on the table; and whilst it still represents a fantastic first half of the season with 11 wins and 48 goals scored, Andrew Christiansen will want his side to build a good run of form heading into the winter months.
Their last outing saw them unfortunate not to defeat Sutherland Sharks away from home, as they hit the woodwork twice in a 0-0 stalemate.
Zac Sapsford led from the front as captain, but despite creating plenty of chances, the Red and Black were held scoreless for just the second time this season, and held to a draw for the first time.
They will back themselves to show better form in front of goal at home against the Newly promoted Hills United, who have battled against the relegation zone for much of the season.
They currently sit in 13th place, but a crucial 2-1 win over Sydney Olympic last weekend saw them climb to 15 points for the season, seven clear of the relegation play-off spot.
Hills are the only side left in the competition yet to draw a game, winning five and losing 11 on their return to the NPL NSW competition.
Their best performance came in a 2-0 win over seventh placed St George City, though they have only won one match away from home all season.
They were also defeated when the teams met up in round two, with Awan Lual and Adam Bugarija scoring the winning goals in a 2-1 success for a rotated Wanderers side.
The match was also notable for backup goalkeeper Lucas Sinnott pulling off a miraculous save at the death to preserve the lead, the Wanderers will be hoping no such heroics are required this time around.
