The Wanderers will be looking to continue their undefeated run in NPL 2 this Saturday against the table-topping Blacktown Spartans at Sydney United Sports Centre at 7:00pm.
The Wanderers will be entering into the match hoping to spoil Spartans’ perfect season, where they’ve picked up four wins from four so far.
Blacktown will be full of confidence after last week’s 4-0 demolition of Bankstown Berries, courtesy of goals from Alex Boyadjian, Michael Konestabo and Mohamad Rahimi.
Meanwhile the Wanderers will be looking to move on from last round’s tough 2-2 draw with Marconi.
The Red & Black controlled much of the match and twice led in the contest via goals from Emmanuel Gonzalez and Oliver Pufflet but were pegged back by an experienced Stallions line-up.
The result leaves the Wanderers with two wins and two draws from the opening four games, though coach Trevor Morgan will be encouraged by his side’s progressive and attacking style of play.
The Wanderers have netted 12 goals so far this campaign, second only to their opponents on Saturday, which suggests that it could be quite the entertaining clash at Sydney United Sports Centre.
Spartans sit top of the ladder, four points above the Wanderers, who will be able to climb as high as second place should they claim the three points on Saturday night.
