The Western Sydney Wanderers NPL 2 team will meet Spirit FC at Sydney United Sports Centre on Sunday afternoon, knowing that a win will keep them on the top of the table.

Last weekend, Spirit moved up to third place in the table after a 2-1 victory over Hills United. The Red & Black will have to watch out for striker Duncan Stewart, who has eight goals to his name this season.

However, Stewart isn’t the only threat with former Central Coast Mariners youth player Louis Bozanic finding the net five times this year.

For the Wanderers, winger Jacob Vasiliou will be one to keep an eye on after impressive performances for the U20 side.

The 18-year-old signed for the Wanderers Academy in 20118 after spending some time with Manchester City. Last year, Vasiliou scored in six consecutive U20 games and was rewarded with an NPL 2 first grade debut in July 2018 against Central Coast Mariners.

Vasiliou then returned to the U20s, playing in their Grand Final victory over Hills United.

Rory Jordan is another u20 player who could make the step up to first grade by the end of the year. Capable of playing as a winger or in central midfield, the 19-year-old joined the Red & Black in 2018 after playing junior football for Marconi Stallions.

Like Vasiliou, Jordan was part of last year’s Grand Final winning U20 side and he also played for the Australian Schoolboys in their January tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Entry to this game is free for all Wanderers members.
