The Western Sydney Wanderers have continued their unbeaten start to the NPL 2 season with a nail-biting 4-3 win over Spirit FC at Sydney United Sports Centre on Saturday night.
The Wanderers led 3-0 at half time and despite a brave comeback by the away side, were able to hold on to register their second consecutive win.
The Red & Black came firing out of the blocks and were soon three goals to the good after a double from Abraham Majok and a strike from Mario Shabow.
Spirit were not discouraged though and after the break clawed their way back into the contest with two quick-fire goals.
Tariq Maia put the contest out of reach with a fourth goal and despite Spirit adding a third, the Wanderers were able to record what was their second victory of the season.
The win keeps Trevor Morganās side in third place on seven points, two behind both the second-placed Blacktown Spartans and the first-placed Marconi Stallions, who the Wanderers will now meet on Saturday night at Marconi Stadium.
