The Western Sydney Wanderers have continued their unbeaten start to the NPL 2 season with a nail-biting 4-3 win over Spirit FC at Sydney United Sports Centre on Saturday night.

The Wanderers led 3-0 at half time and despite a brave comeback by the away side, were able to hold on to register their second consecutive win.

The Red & Black came firing out of the blocks and were soon three goals to the good after a double from Abraham Majok and a strike from Mario Shabow.

Spirit were not discouraged though and after the break clawed their way back into the contest with two quick-fire goals.

Tariq Maia put the contest out of reach with a fourth goal and despite Spirit adding a third, the Wanderers were able to record what was their second victory of the season.

The win keeps Trevor Morganā€™s side in third place on seven points, two behind both the second-placed Blacktown Spartans and the first-placed Marconi Stallions, who the Wanderers will now meet on Saturday night at Marconi Stadium.
