The match opened with a set of exciting exchanges resulting in close chances for both teams. In the fourth minute, Daniel Barac missed a shot from close range for the Wanderers. In the eighth minute,
Adelaide found the back of the net but was denied by an offside call.

In the 19th minute, a miss from Adelaide-s Zenon Carabella rebounded off the post and was slotted in by Evan Kostopolous for Adelaide-s first goal.

Both teams had some opportunities from corners and free kicks which resulted in some near chances but nothing seemed to stick for either team until the 35th minute when a pass from Awer Mabil set up
Kostopolous for his second goal of the match putting Adelaide up 2-0 at half-time.

There was a quiet start to the second half before a yellow card on Stepjan Paric in the 54th minute gave Adelaide the chance to setup an opportunity from the free kick which went astray over the top bar.

In the 67th minute, Zakeriya Elrich put one past the keeper to give the Wanderers their first score and then Jake McGing equalled the scores in the 75th minute with a chip kick into the back of the net.

Both sides tried to take the lead late in the match, but neither was able to capitalise and the match ended up in draw.
