A Barcelona native, Riera developed at the famed FC Barcelona La Masia Academy before playing in Barcelona C and B teams as well as a single match for the senior team in the Copa Del Rey in 2003.
After departing Barcelona Riera has played in the La Liga and Segunda teams including Deportivo de La Coruña, Celta de Vigo, Osasuna as well as a season with Wigan Athletic in English Championship.
A proven goalscorer noted for his finishing, aerial ability and strong physical presence, Riera joined the Wanderers as a marquee player in July 2017.
