Western Sydney Wanderers FC are delighted to announce the re-signing of midfielder Susan Phonsongkham.
The Young Matilda has signed on for her third season with Wanderers, looking to build on her 12 appearances so far in the Westfield W-League competition.
After an injury set-back saw Phonsongkham out for much of last season, the young gun made her competitive return to football in the National Premier League Women’s 1 this year with Sydney Olympic.
Phonsongkham had a breakthrough season, winning the golden boot in the top tier of Women’s football after scoring 20 goals.
The 18-year-old said she proud to be re-joining the club this season.
“It actually means a lot to me (re-signing) because when I first came to Australia (from Thailand) it was in Western Sydney,” said Phonsongkham.
“My first club was Western Sydney Wanderers as a fan and I’ve been watching their games since I arrived.
“I’m really excited to be back because the facility here is amazing, top class, and with the new stadium behind us and the crowd, I think that will help us a lot this season. ”
