Based on the latest weather forecast in New South Wales, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL), in consultation with the clubs, has taken the proactive step to postpone Saturday’s Ninja A-League Women match between Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory.
In accordance with APL’s Heat Policy, A-League matches may be delayed or postponed when the Ambient Temperature measures at or above 38 degrees celsius, and/ or when the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) measures at 28 degrees celsius or above.
APL’s weather forecast data for CommBank Stadium on Saturday indicates that the WBGT is set to be above these measures at the time of kick off (4:40pm AEDT).
With this in mind, the APL in consultation with both clubs have agreed to postpone the fixture to ensure that the highest standard of player, official and fan welfare is maintained, with the fixture set to be rescheduled to an alternative date as agreed upon by all relevant parties.
The Isuzu UTE A-League Men’s fixture on Saturday night between Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory, which is scheduled to kick off at 7:30pm AEDT at the same venue, will remain as scheduled, with the APL’s weather forecast data indicating the WBGT is set to be below the relevant measures at the time of kick off.
