The Western Sydney Wanderers will continue preparations for the 2026/27 A-League Men season this Saturday, taking on Central Coast Mariners in a Members-only pre-season fixture at Wanderers Football Park.
The clash forms part of the Wanderers’ Members Season Launch, giving the Red & Black faithful an exclusive opportunity to see Ufuk Talay’s side in action as preparations continue ahead of the new campaign.
The Wanderers enter the match off the back of another promising pre-season performance, defeating Auckland FC 3-1 in Napier last weekend.
Brandon Borrello struck twice in the victory, while Liam Gillion also found the back of the net against his former club. Dylan Scicluna produced an influential performance through the middle of the park, playing a role in all three Wanderers goals.
The result continued a positive period for the Red & Black after a 4-0 win over Wellington Phoenix earlier in the week, with the squad continuing to build valuable match minutes, combinations and confidence ahead of Round 1.
A number of new faces have already featured throughout pre-season, including Miguel Di Pizio, Gillion, Panashe Madanha, Germán Ferreyra and returning Wanderer Nicolas Milanovic, while a number of emerging Academy products continue to push for opportunities within the senior squad.
Saturday will provide another important test against a Central Coast Mariners side also entering a new era.
Former Mariners player and assistant coach John Hutchinson has returned to the club as Head Coach for the 2026/27 season, overseeing a squad featuring a mix of established players and emerging talent.
The Mariners have added a number of young players during the off-season, including Oliver O’Carroll, Noah McCann, Max Naylor, Luke Becvinovski, Alex Bolton, Presley Ortiz and Gabriel Tilo, while experienced defender Storm Roux is among those continuing with the club.
For the Wanderers, the hit-out represents another valuable opportunity to build towards the opening round of the season and for Members to get an early look at the squad taking shape under Talay.
The A-League Men will take to the pitch at Wanderers Football Park at 3:00pm, with a player Meet & Greet to follow at 5:00pm.
