Western Sydney Wanderers FC have continued their solid start to the pre-season with a 2-2 draw against the Newcastle Jets on Wednesday afternoon.
Daniel Georgievski played a big role, setting up the opening goal with a lovely cross for Bruce Kamau to slam home from close range after 15 minutes before getting himself on the scoresheet with a nice goal late in the half.
Aside from a five minute period where the Jets tested them through a series of set pieces using their advantage in height, the Wanderers were largely in control for the first hour with Georgievski and Kamau causing the visitors problems down both flanks as they looked to get forward at every opportunity.
The Jets made a couple of changes and pulled back a goal midway through the second half and then equalised not long after following a couple of substitutions from the Wanderers.
Head coach Markus Babbel made a number of changes to the side that beat Gold Coast Knights in a trial last week with Dylan McGowan, Tarek Elrich, Daniel Georgievski, Kosta Grozos and Mohamed Adam coming into the starting line-up against the Jets.
