Price extends stay at Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the re-signing of Olivia Price for the next two Liberty A-League seasons.

The consistent midfielder has played a key role in the Wanderers midfield for a number of years with the new contract seeing her extend her time with the club to seven seasons.

Price featured in almost every minute of every match this season and will be looking to continue her fine form over the next two Liberty A-League seasons.

Price said she was excited to continue building with the Wanderers.

“Looking at what Robbie (head coach Robbie Hooker) made us achieve this season and just missing out on Finals this season and knowing he is staying, I think it was a good decision for me to stay on,” said Price.

“I want to just be involved in Finals Football and a winning team. I think Robbie has that mindset at as well.

“I think we can be part of a Championship team. The last few years, we had been in a building process and I had been involved in a lot of that being more of a experienced player.

“It’s been eye-opening seeing how many supporters and fans have been behind us this season. It does make a difference and that’s why we love playing at home, especially at Wanderers Football Park that we call our fortress. That really helps us with games.”

Head coach Robbie Hooker said he was delighted to retain Olivia for the next two seasons.

“Olivia is a true professional of the game and understands what we are trying to build with our women’s football programs over the next two seasons,” said Hooker.

“I commend Olivia for her ongoing loyalty to the club and look forward to continuing to work with her.”
