Price on positives and progression

Wanderers midfielder Olivia Price on the Liberty A-League sides start to the season and the weekend’s trip to Brisbane.

It hasn’t been the dream start the Red & Black had been hoping for in the Liberty A-League competition, but a lot has been said about the team’s ongoing improvement and development.

After facing three tough opponents to open the season, midfielder Price believes there’s plenty of positives to take from the performances.

“I think the positives are each game we are progressing and getting better, and better,” explained Price.

“It’s a new team, a new squad as well, so we’re still trying to gel together.

“I think this week, hopefully we can get a win and keep progressing.”

The Wanderers will be in their first match outside of New South Wales when they travel to Brisbane on Saturday to face the Roar with the trip providing a great opportunity for the team to build on their camaraderie.

“Personally, I love away trips,” said Olivia Price.

“I think it’s really cool, you get to bond with your teammates, you get to know each other more.

You’re altogether and I think it’s a good environment to be in. It brings the team closer as well.”

Like the Wanderers, Brisbane Roar haven’t got off to a hot start having only celebrated one win in four matches.

“Brisbane have been on and off, I think it’ll be a challenge,” said Price.

“I think every team this year is going to be a challenge. We just need to focus on ourselves, work on what we’ve been working on at training.

“Hopefully getting some more chances and taking those chances, getting some goals early.”
