Western Sydney Wanderers FC have confirmed the return of midfielder Olivia Price for the Westfield W-League 2020/21 season.
Price joins the Red & Black from a recent two-year stint at Canberra United where she featured in every match last season.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been a quiet achiever in the Westfield W-League already playing over 50 games in the competition.
Price’s strong work ethic and leadership qualities saw her named the captain of the Young Matildas for her 19 games between 2013-2015.
Price will embark on her seventh season in the Westfield W-League competition and previously played for the Red & Black during the 2017/18 season.
Head coach Dean Heffernan believes Olivia’s experience and mentality will help the Wanderers push for another record-breaking season.
“Olivia is a player with a fantastic work-ethic and team-first mentality,” said Heffernan.
“We’re looking forward to getting to work with Olivia and want to give her every opportunity to succeed both on and off the pitch.”
Price said she was looking forward to playing her part for the Wanderers this season.
“Being an opposition player last season, I definitely had in mind the growth of the Wanderers with their new facilities and a new coach,” said Price.
“When I spoke to (head coach) Dean Heffernan, I really liked his thoughts on building a team with good culture and a positive environment.
“I’m excited to be playing in the Red & Black again and be part of a new team.
“I want to do my part to help the team and club win the Westfield W-League.”
