NRMA Western Sydney Wanderers defender Nikolai Topor-Stanley won-t treat this week any differently against Wellington Phoenix despite the club-s position on the Hyundai A-League ladder.
The Vice-Captain admits that the victory over last season-s Premiers Central Coast Mariners is a confidence boost but there-s work still to be done.
“The good thing about this group is that we-re fairly grounded,” he said.
“We can-t get carried away just yet.
“We still have a few games to go and points up for grabs.”
Coach Tony Popovic echoed the sentiments of his central defender – stating that it would be the club-s own responsibility to ensure their success.
“We also know that unless we play at our best and keep performing – things could change very quickly,” the manager said.
“We-re not expecting any favours from anyone else – we can only control what we do.
“We need to keep performing well and getting the results to stay there.”
The Wanderers- next home game is on Sunday March 10 at Parramatta Stadium at 5pm.
