Western Sydney Wanderers FC have this morning unfortunately confirmed that defender Tate Russell will miss the upcoming A-Leagues season after suffering a devastating injury at training.
Scans have confirmed that Russell has torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during a training session with the injury seeing him sidelined for the next year.
Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Mark Rudan said the club would give their full support to Russell during this challenging time.
“It is heartbreaking for us to lose Tate for the upcoming A-Leagues season after such promising pre-season preparations,” said Rudan.
“Tate is a resilient and strong young man, and we will do whatever possible to support him in his journey back to full fitness.”
