Seven reasons to be excited for the new season

Football will be returning to Western Sydney before you know it and the Hyundai A-League 2015/16 season will have more than its fair share of big moments.

Opening Night

For the second season in a row we will be opening the Hyundai A-League season. In 2014/15 we travelled to Melbourne in numbers to play against Melbourne Victory but this time we won’t be going anywhere with the action coming straight to Pirtek Stadium.

Brisbane Roar will be the opponent on Thursday 8 October in a rematch of our opening FFA Cup fixture in August.

Snap back to normality

This season our fixture season returns back to normality after the chaotic scheduling of last season due to AFC Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup commitments.

There is a distinct drop in the number of midweek matches with only two on Thursday night and three on Friday. The weekends will see six games on Saturdays and two Sunday afternoon fixtures.

A total of 13 home matches all of which are included in our ticketed Memberships which you can renew until Wednesday 22 July.

Derby Day

The biggest fixture in the Hyundai A-League is the derby that divides Sydney.

East from West and Red & Black from Sky Blue.

Our home derby this season is Round 15, Saturday 16 January while we will take over East Sydney once again in the two away fixtures in Round 3 and Round 20.

White Out for White Ribbon

Since the Wanderers inception the club and the local community have been working together to support the White Ribbon foundation and end men’s violence against women.

We will be dedicating our Round 7 home match against Wellington Phoenix with a repeat of last season’s White Night, encouraging everyone to wear white to continue to raise much needed awareness for the cause.

Tis’ the season to be Jolly

We’ll be getting into the festive spirit when we hold a match on Christmas Eve at Wanderland. The Newcastle Jets’ visit on 24 December will be an opportunity to celebrate the time of the year with the entire Wanderers family. Santa might even make an appearance on the pitch!

New Year’s Day

Make it a festive season to remember by returning on New Year’s Day! Following the festive fixture, the Wanderers will start the New Year in the best way possible as Adelaide United visit on the first day of 2016.

Love is in the air

Like the great song by Jon Paul Young, love will be in the air and everywhere you look around at Wanderland on 14 February. We will be taking on the Wellington Phoenix on Valentine’s Day so stay tuned for exciting events and exclusive competitions that will bring love to Wanderland.

All 13 home games and so much more are included in Wanderers ticketed membership so renew your membership now to secure your seat at Wanderland this season.
