Showdowns aplenty for Westfield FFA Cup Round of 16


The Westfield FFA Cup 2017 Round of 16 will feature some blockbusters including a matchup between two previous Cup winners after the draw for the last 16 was conducted on FOX SPORTS.

Inaugural Cup holders Adelaide United will host 2015 champions Melbourne Victory in the last 16 as the draw threw up a host of delectable Cup ties.
Last year’s finalists Melbourne City FC and Sydney FC were again drawn against Member Federation clubs, City to take on Hakoah Sydney City East while the Sky Blues have a short road trip to face Bankstown Berries in a fairy tale matchup for the PlayStation 4 NPL 2 side.
In the other match pitting a Member Federation club against Hyundai A-League opposition, 2014 semi finalists Bentleigh Greens, who progressed in a penalty shootout against Hume City, will host Western Sydney Wanderers FC.



The all-Member Federation matchups threw up some absorbing fixtures with a Queensland derby between Moreton Bay United and Gold Coast City, while the top two teams in PS4 NPL NSW, APIA Leichhardt and Blacktown City, will meet in an all-NSW showdown.
Two former NSL heavyweights will renew their rivalry after Sydney United 58 FC was drawn to host Heidelberg United, with the remaining Cup tie seeing South Melbourne drawn at home for the second straight time where they will meet the only Western Australian side left in the competition, Sorrento.
The Round of 16 will comprise two match nights with four matches per night on either of the following dates – 23/29/30 August.
FOX SPORTS will broadcast one match live and exclusive in full on both match days in the Round of 16 with LIVE streaming and updates of the other matches.
The specific match details in regards to dates, venues and kick-off times will be announced by 5pm on Friday.
