While the Wanderers have historically found it tough to come away with victories in this fixture, the team is focused on taking each opportunity to challenge themselves against one of the league’s top sides.

Sydney FC arrive off the back of a 1-0 win over Central Coast Mariners, with Maddie Caspers’ late strike securing all three points.

The Sky Blues have displayed strong defensive organisation, keeping three consecutive clean sheets, and their ability to take a single moment to decide a match will be a key challenge for Western Sydney.

For the Wanderers, the focus will be on creating chances, staying compact defensively, and remaining disciplined for the full 90 minutes.

Players like Olivia Price, Ella Buchanan, and Danika Matos will be central to the team’s attacking plans, while midfielders and defenders look to maintain shape and control against Sydney FC’s experienced squad.

This weekend will also mark a special occasion for Wanderers fans, with the opportunity to see the club’s new Chinese stars in action at home for the first time.

Wang Ying and Yuan Cong have arrived in Western Sydney and are expected to feature in the squad, adding fresh options and international experience to the Wanderers line-up.

The Derby provides an important opportunity for the Wanderers to grow as a team, testing their strategies and building confidence in key moments.

While history has favoured the Sky Blues, Western Sydney will be aiming to show resilience, composure, and competitiveness in front of their fans.
