Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the signing of forward Talia Kapetanellis for the upcoming Ninja A-League season.
Kapetanellis has signed her first professional deal with the club having previously been signed with the club under a Youth Development Agreement whilst plying her trade in the National Premier League Women’s competition with Sydney University.
The forward said she was ready to put the work in.
“I’ve worked hard over the past year to get to where I am and am very proud to have signed, but I know that is only the beginning. I want to make my debut but know I will have to work hard for the opportunity and continue to work hard to prove that I am ready to represent the club,” said Kapetanellis.
“I just want to keep consistent throughout the season in my work and my effort, and hopefully contributing towards getting the girls and the team into the finals for this season.”
Head Coach Robbie Hooker said that Kapetanellis’ signing was a testament to the hard work that he had seen from her over the last season.
“Talia is a player you can always rely on to put in that little bit extra in everything she does, and that is a trait that is very valuable in a young player,” said Hooker.
“It is our intention at Western Sydney Wanderers to invest in the future of our club, and to be a club that gives opportunities to promising young players. Talia is a great example of one of these players, and I am expecting for her to make a big impact as she joins our attacking lineup.”
