Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the signing of forward James Temelkovski for the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Temelkovski joins the club from National Premier League (NPL) Champions Marconi Stallions where he scored 18 goals in 23 appearances for the club.
The forward dominated the New South Wales competition and opened the scoring for Marconi in last Sunday’s Grand Final at CommBank Stadium where he was also named Man of the Match.
Prior to making waves at Marconi, Temelkovski plied his trade at South Australian NPL outfit North Eastern Metrostars where he scored 27 goals in 23 matches in the league.
Temelkovski said he wanted to repay the Wanderers for believing in him.
“I’m very happy to be here, I was offered a great opportunity by the coaches and I want to repay the club for believing in me,” said Temelkovski.
“I hope to bring value to the club and my time in the National Premier League has taught me the importance of hard-work, discipline and patience.
“I would like to thank my family and my manager for believing in me. I would also like to thank the Western Sydney Wanderers for welcoming me to their club.”
Western Sydney Wanderers head coach Alen Stajcic spoke of James’ untapped potential.
“James has shown an immense desire and dedication to his craft over the last few years in various NPL leagues across Australia,” said Stajcic.
“He has untapped potential as a goalscoring threat and fully deserves an opportunity at the A-Leagues level.”
