Born and bred in Sutherland, Thomas started playing football in 2003 with Loftus Rovers FC.
He spent seven years at the club before moving to Sutherland Sharks in 2011, spending a further four years with the Miranda-based club.
The defender had trials with English Championship side Ipswich Town in 2015 before signing for the Wanderers Academy for the 2016 season.
