Traore on bringing experience to the team

Defender Adama Traore on bringing his domestic and international experience to the Wanderers A-League Men’s team this season.

With over a month of pre-season under his belt with his new teammates, Traore has settled in well to life in Western Sydney with his family.

“First of all, I’m very happy to be here and the move to Sydney has been very positive for me and my family, they have settled in very quickly,” said Traore.

“So that has helped me focus on my football.

“I think the pre-season is for us to get prepared for the first few games. So we’ve been working hard with the coach.

“We’re doing some tactical and technical stuff to make sure we are ready for the first game.”Traore

As one of the more senior players in the Wanderers squad this season, Traore is looking to use his extensive experience in the domestic competition to help guide his younger teammates from the Wanderers Academy.

“For me, it’s important to try and bring my experience to the team and make sure I work hard, as I do every game,” explained Traore.

“Then also try to help my teammates, the young guys, to make sure we achieve what we really want to achieve.”

The pacey left-back is also hoping to show a different side to his game this season, focusing on helping his teammates further up the pitch.

“I’ll try to bring some of the attacking side of my game and also make sure that I can assist my strikers more.”

The Wanderers will kick off their A-League Men’s season on 20 November in the Sydney Derby at CommBank Stadium.
