Volunteers enjoy BBQ with the players

The Guardian Funerals Wandercrew, were treated to an exclusive BBQ on Wednesday afternoon with the Hyundai A-League squad.

The volunteers of Western Sydney Wanderers, the Guardian Funerals Wandercrew, were treated to an exclusive BBQ on Wednesday afternoon with the Hyundai A-League squad.

The day was a thank you in recognition of the hard work and commitment of all 80 members of the Wandercrew who help with match days, training, general operations and importantly community work in cooperation with University of Western Sydney.

An integral part of the Wanderers family, the Wandercrew are in attendance at all Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League, Foxtel National Youth League, AFC Champions League and Powerchair League matches.

Community, Pathways and Football Development Manager Tim Thorne said that the Club

“The Guardian Funerals Wandercrew supported us outstandingly throughout the year so for the club today-s BBQ is an opportunity for the staff and players to give back and serve the volunteers,” explained Thorne.

“We are very appreciative of the work the Wandercrew put in and there are a number of examples of volunteers joining the Club as full time staff.

“If you-re interested in making a difference to the Club you love surrounded by like-minded football lovers at the same time, join the Wandercrew – you-ll have a lot of fun and it-s a very rewarding experience.”
