Wander Women eyeing top four push

The Western Sydney Wanderers Westfield W-League will look to continue their fight for a finals berth when they face Brisbane Roar on Saturday at Suncorp Stadium.

Despite their 2-1 loss to Sydney FC last round, the fifth-placed Wanderers sit just three points outside the top four and know that a win against Brisbane will provide a massive boost to their hopes of qualifying for the finals series for the first time.

The Wanderers will be wanting striker Katie Stengel to continue her rich vein of form, after the striker netted her fifth goal of the season in last week’s Derby.

Like the Wanderers, Brisbane also sit on 10 points but have played one more game than the Red & Black. Having fallen to Melbourne Victory 4-1 last week, the Roar will be desperate for three points to keep their finals chances alive.

Saturday will be the second meeting between the two sides this season, with the Roar coming away 2-0 victors back in Round 4.
