It has been another busy month for the Wanderers in the community with the finals of the Wanderers Schools Cup taking centre stage.
It wasn’t just the Schools Cup though as a number of player appearances throughout Western Sydney bringing fans closer to their heroes.
Â
Players visited Westfield centres in Liverpool, Burwood, Parramatta, Penrith and Mt Druitt to chat with fans, sign autographs and pose for photos.
Â
The Mt Druitt-St Marys Standard was there to write about it.
Â
The Red & Black has also spent a lot of time with Ronald McDonald House recently, including Halloween.
Â
Â
Players and staff attended the house in the week prior to cook meals for the kids and families through the Meals from the Heart program before a number of players attended their Halloween Party.
Â
Dimas, Brendon Santalab and Jonathan Aspropotamitis all dressed up and got involved.
Â
Â
The Wanderers Schools Cup was a raging success with a record number of teams and participants.
Â
All the local papers got behind their schools too, printing articles and posting support including the Fairfield City Champion whose Westfield Sports High School took out the High Schools Boys comp.
Â
The Westfield W-League kicked-off last week and held a community launch at their training base at Western Sydney University.
Â
The team was presented to the public before the players held [and participated in] clinics for local girls.
Â
Both the Penrith City Gazette and Western Weekender were there.
