Western Sydney Wanderers FC have today confirmed the departure of Ninja A-League striker Sophie Harding, effective immediately, following her request for an early termination of her contract due to personal reasons.
Sophie Harding joined the Wanderers ahead of the 2022/23 season, where she quickly became a key player for the Red & Black.
Across her time with the club, Harding has made a total of 58 appearances and scored 18 goals in the league.
The 2023/24 campaign proved to be her breakout year, as she scored 12 goals in 21 appearances, setting a new single-season goal record for the Wanderers and earning the prestigious Julie Dolan Medal.

Her performances also earned her selection in the inaugural A-League Women’s All-Stars squad to face Arsenal.
Harding continued her strong form into the 2024/25 season, adding four more goals to her tally across 19 appearances.

Sophie Harding thanked the Wanderers for the opportunity over the last three years.
“The Western Sydney community and fans have supported me since I arrived at the club and I will always be grateful for that,” said Harding.
“My experience here has made me a better player and person, and I’m grateful for the memories and experiences along the way.”
The Wanderers would like to thank Harding for her contribution to the club and wish her all the best in the future.
