Western Sydney Wanderers FC today confirmed the departure of a number of players following the conclusion of the club’s season.

Oriol Riera, Josh Risdon, Roly Bonevacia, Raul Llorente, Alex Baumjohann, Jaushua Sotirio, Abraham Majok, Marc Tokich, Rashid Mahazi, John Roberts and Giancarlo Gallifuoco have all completed their contracts and departed the club today.

Oriol Riera departs following 56 appearances and scoring 29 goals over his two seasons at the club.

A Barcelona native, Riera joined the club from Osasuna in July 2017 and made his debut against English heavyweights Arsenal FC.

A successful first season outside of Europe saw Riera crowned the Wanderers Golden Boot winner at the end of season 2017/18, smashing the record for the most goals scored in a season by Wanderer across all competitions.

Riera also took out the Wanderers Hyundai A-League Player of the Year Award and Rod Allen Media Award at the Wanderers Medal 2018.

While cut short by a mid-season injury while on national team duty at the Asian Cup, Josh Risdon was a fantastic servant to the club over his two-season spell and leaves to pursue another opportunity in the Hyundai A-League.

Roly Bonevacia joined the Red & Black at the start of the 2017/18 season and has featured in 55 matches for the club, scoring 10 goals.

Bonevacia was recently voted the Wanderers Members’ Player of the Year and the Rod Allen Media Award at Tuesday night’s Wanderers Medal.

Spaniard Raul Llorente featured in almost every match in his first season at the club with another 16 appearances during the Wanderers 2018/19 season.

Midfielder Alex Baumjohann says farewell after joining this season from Vitoria in the Brazilian Serie A.

The creative midfielder featured in 20 Hyundai A-League matches for the club, scoring four goals.

Wanderers Youth team graduates Jaushua Sotirio and Abraham Majok will also leave the club.

Sotirio was part of the Wanderers’ development since day one and piled his trade in the Wanderers youth system.

The attacker scored his first goal in Red & Black in Round 6 of the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season and his breakthrough season came a year later when he became a regular starting player.

The 23-year-old has featured in 92 matches across all competitions for the Wanderers and will be remembered as one of the club’s very first Academy products.

Majok joined the Wanderers at the start of the 2016/17 Foxtel Y-League season and worked his way through the Academy system.

In a journey that saw him go from strength-to-strength, Majok assisted the Wanderers Foxtel Y-League side to Championship glory after scoring nine goals in their 2018 Championship season.

The youngster was named the competition’s overall Golden Boot winner and was crowned the Wanderers Foxtel Y-League Player of the Year at Wanderers Medal 2018.

Marc Tokich – who made 11 senior appearances for the club, and forward John Roberts will also depart following the conclusion of their contracts.

Midfielder Rashid Mahazi departs the club after featuring in 16 matches and scoring his very first Hyundai A-League goal this season.

Giancarlo Gallifuoco’s Injury-replacement contract also ends and has departed the club.

The Western Sydney Wanderers Football Club would like to thank the players for their service and wish them luck in their future endeavours.
