Mo al-taay

Western Sydney Wanderers FC are proud to announce the signing of Wanderers Academy graduate Mohamad Al-Taay to a scholarship contract.

Having impressed Wanderers head coach Carl Robinson during pre-season, the versatile young player featured in a number of pre-season matches in the centre of midfield, earning himself a scholarship contract in the process.

Al-Taay joined the Wanderers Academy in 2016, rising through the ranks with an ability to play in multiple positions coupled with a great attitude off the pitch and strong mentality.

The 20-year-old Campbelltown junior joined the club from Marconi Stallions and has impressed in journey to the first team.

Al-Taay said it was a dream come true to get his chance to be a part of the first team at the club.

ā€œIt has been a great journey for me to get this opportunity and it is one I am going to continue to work hard to payback the faith the coaching staff is putting in me,ā€ said Al-Taay.

ā€œItā€™s been my dream to become a professional footballer, Iā€™ve been lucky to have some great coaches along the way at the Wanderers like Ian Crook and Arthur Diles who have given me great advice and helped me improve.

ā€œUnder Carl Robinson and the first team coaching staff I am continuing to learn and develop, heā€™s a fantastic coach and Iā€™ve had lots of opportunities this pre-season to play and just absorb all the information they are providing me.

ā€œI want to continue to improve, work hard and take any chances I get this season.ā€
