The NRMA Insurance Western Sydney Wanderers will tackle Melbourne City in a pre-season friendly on Friday 22 September at McEwen Reserve in Shepparton in regional Victoria.

The game will coincide with Greater Shepparton Council’s launch of the redeveloped Shepparton Sports Precinct.

It will be the first time the two sides have met since the Wanderers’ 3-1 win in Round 24 of last season’s Hyundai A-League.

Brendon Santalab was the hero in that match, netting his first hat-trick for the Wanderers in a come-from-behind win at Spotless Stadium.

City will host the Wanderers in their first meeting of the Hyundai A-League 2017/18 season in Round 6 at AAMI Park.
