Western Sydney Wanderers FC have unveiled the club’s inaugural home strip at the official club launch today.

The players were wearing the Wanderers home strip, designed by inaugural apparel sponsor Nike.

The red and black hoop jersey with white shorts and black socks provides Western Sydney Wanderers FC with a distinctive identity in the Australian sporting landscape.

The new jersey is a reflection of the colours chosen to represent the region by the fans with world leading sports brand Nike designing what is sure to be a standout jersey in the Hyundai A-League for the 2012/13 season.

“Football is a core focus for Nike and our commitment to the sport is long-standing. We are extremely proud to build on our existing support of the FFA and A-League with the sponsorship of the Wanderers,” said Nike Pacific Managing Director, Paul Faulkner.

“Supporting grassroots football is a key driver for Nike, and one of our key initiatives for young players is the Manchester United Premier Cup (MUPC). Considered the premier Under-15 tournament in the country, Nike brings together the best teams from around the Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific with the finals being held in Melbourne over recent years

“As part of our association with the Western Sydney Wanderers FC, we are pleased to announce that the MUPC tournament finals will now be held annually in the Western Sydney region.

“This hosting right offers the Wanderers organisation a fantastic connection to the youth of the game and will uniquely position the club as a connection between Australian grassroots football and the world stage,” he added.

Western Sydney Wanderers FC Official Nike Home jerseys will be available in all major retail outlets, Western Sydney Wanderers FC Online store and the Nike Online store soon.
