The Western Sydney Wanderers Hyundai A-League team will be heading to Ballarat on Saturday 8 September to take on Melbourne Victory.
In a week of football festivities, the Ballarat & District Soccer Association (BDSA) has secured both the Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne Victory to play in a pre-season fixture at Morshead Park.
The match is an opportunity for both clubs to promote the Hyundai A-League in the region and connect with the local grassroots community.
Ballarat & District Soccer Association President Herman Bogers is excited to have the whole community involved in the fixture.
“BDSA is wrapped to be able to bring Hyundai A-League teams to Ballarat,” said Bogers.
“We can’t wait to see our ALDI Mini Roos players playing at half-time at such a high profile game.”
Wanderer Bruce Kamau believes the match is a great opportunity for the Wanderers to visit a new region and play a competitive friendly match.
“We’re really looking forward to the trip to Ballarat and playing in front of the local community,” said Kamau.
“It’s a great chance to test ourselves ahead of the upcoming Hyundai A-League season.”
