Western Sydney Wanderers FC are delighted to announce the re-signing of Rosie Galea for the upcoming W-League season.
Galea is set to play in her third spell at the Red & Black after a breakout 2020/21 season which saw the youngster named the club’s Golden Boot winner with four goals in 13 games.
The Western Sydney local played an instrumental role in 11 of the Wanderers matches last season and will be looking to build on what was an impressive season.
Head coach Catherine Cannuli said she was delighted to have Rosie back for another season.
“It has been terrific to watch Rosie develop over the last two seasons at the club and I’m very excited to see how this continues this upcoming W-League season,” said Cannuli.
“Rosie is a brilliant role model both on and off the field, and sets a great example to the next generation of young footballers coming through the ranks in Western Sydney.”
Galea said she was proud to be representing her hometown club for another season.
“I’m very excited to have re-signed with the Wanderers for the upcoming season. Our main goal is to play finals football and I want to be able to achieve this goal by working hard and playing my best football,” said Galea.
“It was a great honour to win the Golden Boot last season and help the girls as much as possible, making the most of my time on the field.
“To have the opportunity to represent my hometown means everything to me.
“I hope I’m able to encourage all the young girls growing up in Western Sydney to chase their goals and dreams.”
