Wanderers ready to fight for Glory in final match

The Western Sydney Wanderers Westfield W-League team will be looking to end the season on a high when they take on Perth Glory at Popondetta Park on Sunday at 3:00pm.

Although now out of finals contention, the Wander Women will look to build on last week’s fantastic 1-0 victory over Canberra United at Campbelltown Stadium.

The Red & Black were deserving winners against the two-time champions but will face another stern test against a Glory outfit who are hoping to clinch their spot in the finals.

Katie Stengel

Currently sitting third on the ladder, Perth will be keen to avenge last week’s 2-1 loss against Adelaide United but will be without star striker Sam Kerr who was sent off in that match.

After netting the winner against Canberra, Katie Stengel will again pose the main attacking threat for the Wanderers, with the American now only two goals shy from equalling Wanderers Ambassador Catherine Cannuli’s record tally of eight.

Having matched the Club’s highest points tally in a season with the win against Canberra, the Wanderers will be aiming to go one step better with a result on Sunday.

Entry to the match is free for all Wanderers Members.
