We say goodbye to a favourite son today as foundation player Kwabena Appiah departs the Club after a mutually agreed contract termination.

Announced as one of our first three signings on day one, Appiah has grown from a wide-eyed teenager into a confident and experienced campaigner; highlighted by winning the our 2014 AFC Champions League Player of the Year award.
Ā
Playing in a number of the Clubā€™s memorable matches, including starting in the Champions League Final, Appiah appeared 38 times for the Red & Black.
Ā
CEO John Tsatsimas said Appiahā€™s story holds a special place in the Wanderers history.
Ā
ā€œKwabena is one of the Clubā€™s success stories; signed as a local Western Sydney boy, he is now an accomplished Hyundai A-League player and Asian Champion,ā€ said Tsatsimas.
Ā
ā€œIt has been a pleasure to watch Kwabena grow as a player and as a person and we wish him nothing but the best for the rest of his career.
Ā
ā€œKwabena will never be forgotten by the fans, staff or teammates and he leaves us with great memories and a lot of smiles.ā€
Ā
Appiah has departed the Club with immediate effect.
