The Western Sydney Wanderers are proud to announce the signings of goalkeepers Jada Whyman and Trudy Burke for the upcoming Westfield W-League season.

Whyman re-signs for the Wanderers after joining the club back in October 2015.

A breakthrough campaign for Whyman last season saw the rising star feature in almost every match, making more saves than any other keeper in the competition.

The 17-year-old spent her formative years in Wagga Wagga before moving to Western Sydney and said she’s looking forward to spending another season with the Red & Black.

“It’s amazing to be signing again with the Wanderers where I started my professional career,” said Whyman.

“I’m looking forward to developing as a team and as a club to take women’s football to a whole new level.

“I really think we can do that with the players and coaches we’ve got this year.”

Burke returns back to the Wanderers after spending the last two seasons with Melbourne City and Canberra United.

After making nine appearances for the Red & Black back in the Westfield W-League 2014/15 season, the shot-stopper will be competing with Whyman for the starting spot in 2017/18.

Burke says she’s excited about returning to Western Sydney and helping to shape the future of the club.

“I think there is great potential for the team to be one of the greatest teams in the Westfield W-League, similar to the Mens in the Hyundai A-League, and that’s what drew me back to the club,” said Burke.

“Coming from Wollongong, the Wanderers, in a way, are my hometown W-League team so I’m excited to be playing in front of all my family and friends.”
