To complete Round 5 in the Hyundai A-League, the two sides put on a ripper at Etihad Stadium in front of over 21,000 fans.
The Wanderers would rue not making the most of the man advantage after Mitch Austin’s red card on just 23 minutes for a second yellow.
Victory battled back to equalise in the second half.

“Our second half was pretty poor to be honest. We let them back in the game,” a disconsolate Cornthwaite told FOX SPORTS.
“They pressed up a bit higher but it’s the third week in a row in which we were in front and in charge and we didn’t come away with three points, which is very disappointing.
“We’ve scored in every game we’ve played and conceded a set piece [against Victory] which was very disappointing.
“A game like this, against 10 men, we fully expected to win and we’re very disappointed.”

Wanderers are now fourth on the ladder after their fourth draw of the season – the most of any team so far this campaign.
They are back in Melbourne this weekend to face City in Round 6.
It will be their first under the official control of new head coach Josep Gombau, who watched on from the stands as the caretaker coach stint of Hayden Foxe comes to an end.
